Happy Birthday Rob!

Yesterday was Rob's birthday!  Last year on his birthday I was WAY sick with morning sickness (although it lasted all day!).  So we didn't do anything.  He did get a cake, but that was about it, so I wanted to make up for it this year.  I'm not sure if I did, but it was better!

I'm not the best cake decorator in the world,
but I think it looked alright.
It was a white chocolate cake I made from scratch.
Rob found the recipe online and it's awesome!
I also made Rob's favorite for dinner-ribs and "wingers" chicken.
We had some friends over for dinner and rook afterwards too.

Rob is so amazing.
He works hard everyday so I can stay at home.
Then comes home and still helps out with the house and Nick!
He loves to play with Nick and puts him to sleep almost every night-
I'm told it's their guy time (that and during church).
He always knows how to make me smile
and makes me happy every day!
Happy Birthday Rob!  I love you.

Story Time

Nick loves to read stories, at least part of them depending on his attention span at the moment.  The other day I left Nick on the floor in the living room while I put some stuff away.  When I came back he was holding his book up all by himself!  It was so cute I just had to take pictures!

Happy Halloween

So I know, it's been almost a week but hey better late than never!  Nick had a great first halloween, although he got tired and went to bed about 7, but it was fun to have him dressed up and show him off.

Here's us carving pumpkins. Nick didn't see the finished products until the next day because we started too late and he got tired.  So, here he is with them right before he went to bed.

Rob and I with our pumpkins.
Mine on the left, Nick's on the right,
and Rob's in the back.

For Halloween Nick was a devil.
Surprisingly he kept the hat on most of the time too!

I think this is a definitely a little devil face!

Nick got another pumpkin from my visiting teachers
and he loved it!

I love this picture!  He has such an innocent look on his face!

4 months old

Nick is 4 months old!  Okay he was last week,
but today's the day we went to the doctor.
I can't believe how fast time has gone.
He's doing great and is now:
Weight 12 lbs 9 oz (7th percentile)
Height 26.25 inches (88th percentile)
Head 16.5 inches (37th percentile)
Needless to say, he takes after his dad!

Picking Pinenuts

This last weekend we went pinenut picking with Rob's sister and her family.  I had never been before and had lots of fun.  Rob went every year when he was little, at least when there were some.  We probably will end up doing the same!

Rob the professional pinenut picker!

Nick was my little helper!
Although he didn't like it when I bent over.

Don't they look nummy?

Us at the end of the day.
Yes we did fill the entire ice cream bucket!

First Rice Cereal

The other night Nick was STARVING!  So we decided to try rice cereal.  He didn't get much down his throat, but he seemed to really like it (or at least he liked having something in his mouth).

Nick's first bite!

He can'te quite decide what to think yet!

Now he's getting the hang of it!

Doesn't he look cute with his face covered!

Playing with the camera

We got a new camera knowing Nick was on the way.  We still don't know all the little gadgets on it, but we sure have fun dressing Nick up and trying new settings!
